40 CRPF soldiers martyred in J&k in suicide bombing by jaish-e-mohammed

A Jaish-e-Mohammed suicide bomber on Thursday afternoon attack on a CRPF convoy with explosive in a car at least 40 soldiers martyred and injuring several others. The convoy started at 3:30 am from Jammu.

This was one of the worst terrorist attacks in India after Uri where 18 soldiers are martyred on 18 september2016

The convoy has 70 vehciles and more than 2500 personnel .Many of the soldiers were returning from leave and rejoining duty in the Valley.




Tomorrow morning a 12 member team of NIA will go to the blast site. An IG rank officer of the NIA will lead the team, agency reports. 
CRPF (Operations) Inspector General Zulfiqar Hassan told ANI that the Jammu and Kashmir Police has taken up the investigation.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik and will visit Srinagar on Friday.

CRPF director general, RR Bhatnagar, said: “Senior officers are at the spot; the investigation is underway. Injured are being taken care of. There was 2500 personnel in the convoy.”

Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti said in a tweet: “No words are enough to condemn the gruesome terror attack. How many more lives will be snuffed out before this madness ends?”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he strongly condemned the “despicable and dastardly” attack.
